Dear ICES Vendor,
The 2018 Ohio ICES Convention and Show committee is pleased to extend an invitation to join us for the 43rd Annual ICES Convention and Show in Cincinnati, Ohio. Located on the banks of the Ohio River, the city is an easy ride “across the bridge” from Kentucky and sits within a half hour of the Indiana border. All told, nearly two thirds of the U.S. population lives within a one day drive of Cincinnati.
Cincinnati is served by the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG), in Hebron, KY. As of 2017, Skytrax has rated CVG among the best airports in the world. Airlines such as Delta, American, United, and Southwest all have service to CVG, as well as carriers like Allegiant, Frontier, Air Canada and others. Taxis, shuttle service and public transportation options are all available between CVG and downtown Cincinnati.
As for Cincinnati, Ohio as a destination, it’s been named one of the most walk-able cities in America. There are so many historic, cultural and entertainment options within a short walk or an easy drive of our convention site, that there is sure to be something of interest for the entire family. An extensive listing of things to do and see will be available on our ICES 2018 website.
Our convention venue, Duke Energy Convention Center (DECC), takes its place in Cincinnati’s skyline by welcoming visitors with its iconic series of glistening metal panels set at angles along the western facade that gleam alongside Interstate 75, proclaiming C-I-N-C-I-N-N-A-T-I in 50-foot-tall letters. After a recent $135 million expansion and renovation DECC has become the Midwest’s best-in-class center. What this means for our ICES Vendors is 200,000 contiguous square feet of Exhibit Space, a loading dock with 17 berths and three semi-truck portals that lead directly to exhibition space and some of the finest services and personnel of any convention facility in the country.
Our host hotel is the Millennium Hotel Cincinnati, located directly across the street from the convention center, connected by an enclosed skybridge. The Millennium is the largest hotel in Cincinnati, with a total of 872 guest rooms and a friendly, accommodating staff, ready and eager to serve our attendees throughout their stay. We know you will find the Millennium, with an ICES Convention room rate of $119++ per night/single-quad, provides a high level of convenience and value.
Over 2,500 parking spaces are located immediately surrounding the Center in private flat lots, privately managed garages and metered street spaces. The garages offer direct entry to the convention center via Cincinnati’s Skywalk System.
Here’s some trivia…There are several American cities that claim the nickname “The QUEEN City”, but only Cincinnati is said to have received that moniker by way of a Longfellow poem about wine. (It’s true!). And, did you know, that Ohio calls itself the “the HEART of It All”? So, what will happen when you come to visit the QUEEN of the HEART of it all…? You just may find yourself in WONDERLAND!
As we get ready to welcome you to OUR Wonderland, we look forward to your participation as a vendor for our 2018 ICES Convention and Show. Thank you in advance, for helping to make Cincinnati THE Sugar Art destination in 2018. We’re going to have a magical time. That’s why we’re calling it…
“ICES In Wonderland – Fantasy, Frosting and Fun”.
The possibilities are endless!
