Sugar artists and enthusiasts from around the world will be in attendance to share their knowledge of familiar sugar techniques and their newest innovations to the art of sugar.  The Thoroughbreds of cake decorators and sugar artists will offer instruction at the TRAINING TRACK on a great variety of techniques in the demonstrations and hands-on classes.  Visit the TRACKSIDE VENDORS where exhibitors will dazzle you with their showcase of products to supply all of your sugar crafting needs and dreams.  Be awed and inspired by the hundreds of icing displays in the SUGAR ART STABLE.  On Saturday night kick up your heels at the BLUEGRASS BALL in your favorite party attire.  You can bet on seeing old acquaintances and making many new friends while you are HORSING AROUND IN THE BLUEGRASS.

Lexington features a diverse cityscape.  From its vibrant downtown which supports historic preservation to its famed horse farms, it is the 2nd largest city in Kentucky and the 63rd largest in the U.S.  Lexington is known as the “Thoroughbred City” and the “Horse Capital of the World.”

Lexington is home to many thriving arts organizations including a professional orchestra, two ballet companies, professional theatre, museums, several choral organizations and a highly respected opera program.  It has over 100 parks, six public golf courses and two historic racing tracks.  The Kentucky Horse Park  is a working horse farm and an educational theme park along with being the home for some of the world’s greatest competitive horses.

The University of Kentucky Wildcats men’s basketball team is by far Lexington’s most popular sport.  They have

won 8 NCAA championships and have one of the most winning basketball programs of any team in history. If you were at Midyear during a UK ballgame you were able to experience seeing the crowd attired in a sea of blue – which is why our official show color is “Kentucky Blue.”  For more suggestions on attractions in Kentucky visit www.kentuckytourism.com
